Getting Started
Paste one prompt into Claude Code or Codex and let it install Drop, sign you in, and ship your first Droplet.
Drop is Hi Marley's platform for creating and sharing Droplets — single-page HTML apps or Markdown documents that you can share internally with your team via SSO, or externally with secure, expiring links.
New to Drop? Most people should start with Claude Code or Codex. Paste the prompt below into your assistant, let it handle install and login, and then ask it to create your first Droplet.
1. If you use Claude Code or Codex — paste this in
This is the simplest setup path for most people. Copy this prompt into your assistant:
Read https://drop.himarley.ai/llms.txt, set up the Drop CLI, and run drop login in the terminal using my system browser. Install the Drop skill and help me create my first Droplet.
That URL is Drop's machine-readable docs index. Your assistant follows the links from there — fetching the CLI reference, resource pages, and any other docs it needs as raw markdown — then runs the install, walks you through drop login, installs the Drop skill in your assistant’s skills directory so it knows the full workflow, and helps you ship your first Droplet.
The skill itself is at /skills/drop/SKILL.md if you want to read what your assistant is reading.
2. Manual CLI setup
If you'd rather work directly in the terminal, install the CLI, sign in with Hi Marley SSO, and install the Drop skill for Claude Code yourself:
# Install the Drop CLI (platform auto-detected)
curl -fsSL https://drop.himarley.ai/install-drop.sh | bash
# Sign in with browser-based SSO
drop login
# Headless or remote shell
drop login --no-browser
# Install the Drop skill for Claude Code
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/drop && curl -so ~/.claude/skills/drop/SKILL.md https://drop.himarley.ai/skills/drop/SKILL.md
The CLI puts a standalone drop binary at ~/.drop/bin/drop and adds it to your PATH — no Node or npm required.
3. Create your first Droplet
Once the CLI is installed, create an HTML app or Markdown document:
# HTML — a single self-contained file
drop create my-app.html --name "My App" --slug my-app
# Markdown — rendered with a branded stylesheet
drop create notes.md --name "Meeting Notes" --slug meeting-notes
# Your Droplet is live at:
Using Claude Code? This is all you need — Claude can drive the drop CLI directly after setup. If you'd prefer native MCP tool-calls instead of shell commands, see the MCP Server page for the one-line claude mcp add configuration.
No terminal? No problem.
Open drop.himarley.ai, sign in with Hi Marley SSO, and drag any .html or .md file onto the dashboard. You get a live URL to share — no install, no commands.
Need to make the file first? Ask Claude (or any chat assistant) for "a single self-contained HTML file about [your topic]" and drag the result in.
